Nicholas Akpebu
Nicholas Akpebu is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Transroyal Ghana Limited. An experienced administrator with over 30 years of experience, his deep knowledge of the Ghanaian business context has seen him manage some of the biggest organizations in the country including Social Security Bank (now Societe General Bank Ghana) Total Ghana Limited, and Federated Commodities Limited.
From 1976 to1990, Nicholas rose through the ranks of Social Security Bank (SSB) from Manager to become the Deputy Managing Director. While at the SSB, he led the biggest restructuring of the bank through the Financial Sector Adjustment Programme (FINSAP) supported by the World Bank. This programme revitalized the bank’s financial outlook and opened up opportunities for financial injection.
At Total Ghana Limited, Nicholas’ tenure saw the organization chalk many successes. Chief among them was the brand revitalization of Total that put the company on the path to become a household name in the Ghanaian context.
Nicholas’ passion for agriculture culminated in him getting a Diploma in Agriculture Financing from the FINAFRICA Institute in Milan, Italy. Coupled with his years of management experience, he became the Managing Director of Cocoa Merchants Limited from 2001-2005 and subsequently at Federated Commodities Limited from xxx- xxx
His unique leadership style and penchant for success has earned him a seat on various boards. These Agriculture Project; Subri Industrial Plantation Limited. In both Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and the National Investment Bank, where he was also the board chairman.
He is a graduate of the University of Ghana Business School with a B.Sc. Administration degree. He is married with 5 children.
